Xotic Super Sweet Or Super Clean What Should I Get?

  • Some fraudsters have compromised TGP accounts have in the by few days. They have scammed members in the Emporiums past creating ads with stolen photos and requesting Paypal F&F or Venmo exclusively for payment.

We have these issues seriously. We've fabricated security changes that I don't want to item here to cease them. However, the best way to forestall this is for members to exercise proper password hygiene (which I'll detail below), turn on two-gene authentication, and -- I implore every single person here -- only apply payment methods that have buyer protection. Unfortunately, nosotros cannot command how members do deals. It is heartbreaking to see that the lure of saving some coin will still fool people into using those methods to save a few dollars. In today's world, that is false confidence you lot tin no longer beget.

Every account that I've restored so far to the original owner was using compromised passwords. Talking to one member as I am working through getting his account back in order, he informed me that his Apple password manager had been compromised and made bachelor on the night spider web.

None of the accounts compromised were using two-cistron authentication.

We have forced email revalidation for all members that have not signed on for a while. We highly recommend every fellow member reading this change their passwords as a precaution. Nosotros want to highly recommend that members turn on and utilize TGP'south two-factor authentication option.

We have opened a discussion thread in the Pub section discussing this.We will include a very detailed password checklist.

Elementary question: I'm eyeing a mini EP-style boost and the two that accept caught my eye are the Xotic EP Booster and the Super Make clean. Obviously, I can't endeavor them in-store so I'm coming here for advice.

The EP seems fairly pop but information technology has its detractors. The Super Make clean is newer but it has more versatility and you can trim the bass which seems to be the EP'due south weakness.

I use mainly Strats into a Fender Princeton, a Marshall Mini Jubilee and a Mesa Mark 5:25.

Which one would you lot pick, and why? Thanks in advance. :)

Never used an EP but love the Super Make clean. However, I use the high cut. It has a bass heave but I have plenty of bass and don't need it. . There is no bass cut on the super make clean just to me its not a bassy unit at all. It adds mids with dip switches off. Y'all can just add either more than bass or hi or low mids and gain. I practise like it simply as i said I tin can't compare the ii pedals withal.

I play Strats and have the EP Booster on my lath. I love the thing. Especially when pushing a depression or mid proceeds setting on the amp. I have a Mark Five, and the EP Booster is wonderful pushing the crunch setting on the yellow channel.

I own both. I've had the EP Booster for years. I use it specifically to heave the neck and middle pickups on my HSS Strat. It's alright.

I got the Super Make clean considering of the added frequency tweakability. Notwithstanding working on it, just it looks like information technology'southward gonna be a keeper.

I own two get-go generation EP boosters and one Super Make clean boost, and would rather it was i of the former and two of the latter. The EP has a useful sound, specially with a Strat, merely the low end is a scrap mushy and more needed too oftentimes. The SCB in default style has a slight boost in the mids with a piffling trimming of low finish. But the EQ options are superb. You can get a close approximation of a treble booster with far less racket by switching the how-do-you-do mid boost on forth with the high cut. Information technology besides has the best buffer I've used, amongst many of the usual suspects.

Big fan of the EP Booster, but couldn't get on with the Super Clean or Super Sweetness boosters. The Super Clean was kind of similar a stripped down RC Booster, but I preferred the RC exponentially. The EP Booster was just a more magical sounding box than the others. YMMV, but Xotic striking information technology out of the park with the EP and it's still smashing.

I have an EP and an Analogman Bad Bob and I detect that the EP adds a lot more color to the tone than the BB; in a GREAT way. I play mostly single coils (strat/tele/p90) and I actually love the added flavor that the EP adds. I have mine ahead of a TS808 and that combo running together is astonishing. I also play at home through small-scale amps (BJ & Champ 600) and the EP plays then nice with both amps. I think it'south definitely worth grabbing an EP especially since they tin can be had for so trivial. I retrieve you'll really dig what they do for a strat.

The Super Clean was kind of like a stripped downwardly RC Booster,
Agreed, but that's why I similar information technology and why it vanquish the RC2 for me. The RC2 is fantastic, but 1) those footswitches are merely likewise close, and I really don't need a second gain stage personally, and two) the RC'south are true bypass, no buffer.

Then as always, it comes down to needs and preferences. I like that the Super Make clean has flexible EQ options, a buffer and a single footswitch in a mini enclosure. Biggest divergence to me is the gain knob on the RC, which is overnice to have for sure. And if the RC is always-on, the lack of buffer probably isn't an consequence anyway, only the SC'due south power to be an e'er-on buffer and an on-demand boost adds to its functionality.

I had an EP briefly a long time agone, information technology's great too but as is always said, its strong EQ flavor may or may not piece of work with your guitar/rig...

With singles, the EP is only magic!!

I besides use information technology with my Parker's humbuckers, and it adds a fleck of sweetness to the summit end...yeah, at that place'south some depression end too - only it only makes things sound "better"

It'south an always on pedal, 2nd in my chain (later on my PTD RotoPlex Fuzz)

I have both. The EP adds a low end fatness and starts to clip to a higher place 9oClock. It'south subtle simply it'south always in that location. The Super Clean can do what the EP does but has the three heave switches and hi cut switch. The Super Clean sounds like a "more" button. I use mine at 10oClock with the low mid switch on in front of the clean channel of my Suhr PT15. Sounds crawly with single coils.

I agree with previous posts. I ain both and dear the SC for the tone tweak ability. Crawly pedal...more important for my taste than the EP. The EP is great though, had mine for most 10 yrs, but I actually like the SC options and cleans.

I've never tried the Super Clean but I love the EP Booster.

I leave it at unity gain and it just makes everything sound amend.

I know you lot didn't ask but I adopt the Clinch FX Pico Pre. Information technology's ever on so there's that vs. the EP Booster but it'southward also much closer to an actual EP-iii and the EP Booster always had too much depression end for my taste. The Super Clean will give you a crisper sound than both with the ability to choose what freqs get boosted if yous need that. My ii cents. Guess it depends on your guitar, pickups, amp...etc., etc. as always.

Not to hijack this thread, but what is the difference between the super make clean and the super sweet? They seem similar the aforementioned pedal with i having a flake more proceeds? Is that authentic?

Pretty much. They have the same EQ and DIP switches but the Super Sweet has a lot more gain.

I have both. The EP adds a depression finish fatness and starts to clip above 9oClock. It's subtle but it's ever there. The Super Clean can do what the EP does but has the 3 boost switches and howdy cut switch. The Super Clean sounds similar a "more" push button. I utilise mine at 10oClock with the low mid switch on in front of the clean channel of my Suhr PT15. Sounds awesome with single coils.

What do you practise to make the SC mimic an EP?

I would switch on the low end heave. Keep in mind the Super Clean has a subtle mid boost by default the EP doesn't have.
