Welcome to the Corolla Forum!:clap::):thumbup1::airship:

A fuel condiment is used to go along the combustion chambers, valves and fuel injector tips make clean and functioning properly. Not many of them on the market are very effective.

There is no demand or benefit from using Premium fuel unless the owners manual for the vehicle says information technology's required. Indeed, lower fuel economy can be expected with Premium fuel.

Using Premium gas in a vehicle that doesn't crave information technology, wont help the engine. Save your coin.

Paying a Premium for High Octane Gasoline?

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles...ctane-gasoline

Unless information technology's recommended past your owner's manual, don't spend the money on high octane gas. In most cases, there's no do good. Higher octane helps only if you have problems with your engine "knocking."

Read Your Owner's Manual

"Unless your engine is knocking, ownership higher octane gasoline is a waste of money. Premium gas costs 15 to 20 cents per gallon more than regular. That can add together up to $100 or more than a year in extra costs. Studies indicate that altogether, drivers may be spending hundreds of millions of dollars each twelvemonth for higher octane gas than they demand.

It may seem like buying higher octane "premium" gas is like giving your motorcar a treat, or boosting its operation. But accept note: the recommended gasoline for most cars is regular octane. In fact, in virtually cases, using a higher octane gasoline than your owner's manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won't make your car perform better, go faster, get meliorate mileage, or run cleaner. Your best bet: listen to your owner'south manual.

The only time you might demand to switch to a college octane level is if your car engine knocks when y'all use the recommended fuel. This happens to a modest percentage of cars".

VIDEO - Will Your Corolla Benefit From Using Premium Fuel?

Short answer; no. Premium fuel has less Btu's in information technology and will really reduce fuel economy for your Corolla. Unnecessary. Relieve your money.

@ScottO'Kashan is right nearly the premium fuel. Our engine's don't need information technology.

As far as fuel organisation cleaner, I utilise it every 5K. Specifically, Redline SI-1.

To me, fuel additives and premium gas for a Corolla are throwing coin down the drain (or more literally, in the tank).

The premium gas will probably take more ethanol in it too and that volition do your engine more damage than regular gas. you would do ameliorate to spend a little coin on maintance similar induction system cleaning and fuel injector service at regular intervals. there is no magic elixir its all ophidian oil, If you wait at the advertising for those things you'll see that they are the but ones that believe they work. If y'all desire to do your engine some good simply exist consistant with your gas employ the aforementioned station or at least the same brand. Im lucky with my gas I have a brand name (and its not who you remember) every fourth dimension I buy gas and they accept not ethanol gas, its all I utilize. and just for reference when I had my corolla, I tested the difference from ethanol blend to non ethanol and in that location was a 3-4 MPG difference. I dont experiment anymore on my new truck and my married woman dont drive her car much so theres not much oportunity for it. Just my 2C.

I agree that most fuel additives are not very constructive, (my apprehensive opinion). Only with my company vehicle, calculation AMSOIL Peformance Improver fuel additive to a tank of gas, fuel economy testing on my, "test track", increased the highway fuel economy of my visitor vehicle from 36.five mpg, to 41.ix mpg over iii runs. This is saving me hundreds of dollars a twelvemonth in reduced fuel costs. The engine runs much, much smoother, quieter, starts easier/quicker and has a noticeable comeback in power/throttle response and reduced emissions.

Drive your automobile until it'south well-nigh empty, then add an entire bottle of P.i. followed by refilling the gas tank to full again. Retreat every 4,000 miles to keep the combustion chambers, valves and fuel injector tips clean and operating at peak efficiency.

I accept a 2016 Toyota Corolla S that i bought brand new. I only apply Shell regular gas. Every 5,000 miles i add Gumout fuel arrangement cleaner. I have had no issues with my auto. I also have the regular maintenance washed. Every 5,000 miles have the tires rotated and breaks checks etc. They modify the oil with total synthetic 0w 20 every 10,000 miles. Become with what's in your owner's manual for the maintenance. Some of the Quick Change Oil places will endeavor to get you to buy other services that you don't need just do what'southward in your service manual and you volition be fine.

JoshTRD

your auto is brand new.....dont be pouring after market place crap into your engine or gas tank delight LMAO>..

Tink

I don't think it'south hurts my car to add a fuel organization cleaner to my gas. I also go more mpg also.

Rock'n Roller

Add a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel Injection Cleaner at every oil change. If your a Costco member they sell a box of vi bottles for $fifteen. Gasoline quality can vary by refinery and batch. Most gas these days is oxygenated with ethanol (typically x% ethanol, 90% gas). It'southward the sulfur in the gas in conjunction with the oil vapors introduced into the intake tract (carbon), which clogs the injectors. Water in the gas is the next biggest trouble. The water tin can carve up from the gas and settle on the bottom of the tank. This is known every bit phase shift. It happens in canoeing all the time. Causes some major fuel issues. I would as well recommend adding some Star-tron to your fuel, as well to forbid this. You can pick this up at Wally Globe. A few ounces per tank.

SuperchargedMR2

If you always use a Summit Tier gasoline yous should exist okay. Not that adding a quality gas treatment will hurt though.
